# About Hookah Pookah

Hookah Pookah is a browser-native poker odds calculator built for players who want defensible equity numbers for Texas Hold'em, Short Deck, PLO4 and PLO5.

## Mission

Answer "what are my chances?" without shipping hands to a server. The product prioritizes exact enumeration when feasible, honest Monte Carlo intervals when not, and clear labeling of which mode produced each result.

## Methodology

Every calculation runs in Web Workers inside the visitor's browser. Heads-up Hold'em preflop enumerates all 1,712,304 boards when exact mode fits. Ranges respect card removal. Ties split the pot, so equity is wins plus each player's share of splits. Short Deck supports Triton and classic ranking differences. Omaha variants always use exactly two hole cards and three board cards.

## Verification

The evaluator is checked against published seven-card category counts, millions of reference hands spanning Hold'em and Omaha, OMPEval exhaustive preflop equities, and an independent brute-force oracle for randomised spots with ranges and dead cards. Monte Carlo intervals are calibrated so that nominal 95% intervals contain exact answers at about that rate.
